Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) and Particle Tracking Velocimetry (PTV) measurements of the carrier fluid velocity in bubbly flows are affected by a wide variety of parameters. We investigate the effect of four of these parameters: particle seeding density, bubble concentration, bubble displacement magnitude, and bubble displacement angle. The effect of these parameters on the accuracy of both PIV and PTV measurements is investigated using Monte Carlo Simulations. Results show that PTV offers superior results in all of the combination cases tested. The information presented here can be used to optimize the experimental conditions in flow such as particle laden flows or bubbly flows
