'Songs of Experience': The contribution of Fritz Hart
This article considers the impact of the expatriate experience on English-born composer, Fritz Hart who spent the majority of his working life in Australia. His continued contact with peers in Britain is examined as a conduit of musical influence, and Celticism is identified as a cultural frame of reference in his composition that superseded his physical location.
