Making scents of pest management for hardwoods

Pesticide use is contentious, and its application limited by requirements of certification schemes. Classical biological control is not feasible as the pest/eucalypt/natural enemy system is wholly endemic. Selection for pest resistant trees is possible, but limited by tradeoffs between growth traits and pest susceptibility.
