Blood transfusion from the recipient's perspective

This paper reports on an interpretative research study that set out to develop a rich description of patients' experiences of the process of preparing for and receiving a blood transfusion. The themes of information-giving and receiving; reactions, both physical and emotional; and the care and treatment participants received through the experience are presented.
