Amoebic gill disease (AGD)-affected Atlantic salmon Salmo salar sometimes developed a serum-antibody response to wild-type Neoparamoeba spp. Five of 103 AGD-affected S. salar sampled possessed detectable antibodies that bound wild-type Neoparamoeba spp. western blotting revealed two distinctly different binding profiles. © 2008 The Authors.
