Kensington Townhouse
The project is a two-storey townhouse constructed on a narrow vacant east-west site between Victorian single-fronted terraces in Kensington. The design of the front fayade consciously defers to its immediate neighbours, while the rear is contrasted with a softer and unstructured palate of recycled timber, plywood, obscure glass, and a cast iron spiral stair opportunely discovered in the Trading Post. Internally, in response to the limited solar access, the dwelling inverts traditional planning hierarchies.
