posted on 2023-05-22, 10:25 authored by Bernard CairnsBernard Cairns
The second edition of Principles of Civil Procedure in Queensland continues the approach of the first edition in exploring the conceptual underpinnings of the Queensland civil justice system and how they apply in conducting civil litigation. The pre-trial court management of civil litigation as is an essential feature of the system which the book discusses, including the increasing reach and significance of court practice directions. Conceptual as well as practical issues are discussed. The emphasis of the book is basic principle rather that mechanical procedures. Court decisions, statutory provisions and practice directions that became available since the first edition have been discussed. A new chapter in class actions is included in the new edition.
