posted on 2023-05-26, 13:16 authored by Sarah StubbsSarah Stubbs
This is the first of a series of exhibitions/installations which deal with Wayfaring as a research methodology. The work explores notions of materiality and place. Wayfaring consisted of 40 objects, in various stages of making, from the highly finished to the unfinished and at times broken. Bowls, brooches and cast forms of botanical debris collected whilst walking to and from work, were paired together in groups of various sizes to elicit uncomfortable associations and readings. Viewers where prompted to consider the role and function of these objects.
