A Tasmanian Experience
Welkom! wolkom! willkommen! velkommen! dobrodoli! prosze bardzo! vítáme tô! bienvenue! Kalős orisate! benvenuto! velkommen! bienvenido! merhaba! gaidîts! welcome into this bespoke domestic space.
Please pause for a moment and take a look at the family photographs placed in this bespoke family living room and listen to the voices of women who migrated to Australia between 1945-1975 as they relate their diverse experiences.
Through this unique micro-exhibition, made possible by a University of Tasmania Creative-Digital Domain Grant, and a REGS Grant, you can view the digitalized snapshots brought to Tasmania half a century ago by migrant women from Poland, Greece, Italy, England, France, Scotland, Belgium, Slovenia, Germany, Holland, the Netherlands, Estonia, Latvia and many other countries in the post-war period.
