Abstract
[The hydrodynamic behavior of a subsurface flow constructed wetland was studied experiemntalmnete
in a pilot constructed wetland in the department of Cundinamarca, Colombia, Cogua Township. It
experimentally estimated retention time, the scattering coefficient and the hydraulic conductivity of
wetland. The results suggest that the flow in the wetland is a piston flow entry except wetland
verifying the assumption made in the methods of design of artificial wetlands. The diffusion coefficient and
hydraulic conductivity showed a significant spatial variation which is contrary to the assumptions of
made constant values design methods used most frequently.]
