The recent fusion of Augmented Reality (AR) and mobile technologies has enabled the creation of novel mobile AR applications. As the image processing algorithms and processing capabilities of mobile hardware continue to improve, mobile AR will become more commonplace. In addition, the mobile game industry itself has grown significantly in recent years. This is partly because of the development of 3D game engines which are being widely used not only in game applications, but also in the areas of virtual reality, virtual architecture, and education.
