A pink Moke, fur coat and the flying duck collection
Paul Taylor has been regarded as one of the best critics, curators and cultural commentators of his generation. Born and raised in Australia, after a brief academic career he went on to found one of the most influential Australian/International visual arts journals of the past forty years – Art & Text. He remained manager and editor until 1984 when he moved to New York and began writing art criticism for, among others, Vanity Fair and the New York Times. He returned to Melbourne in 1992 where he died of an AIDS-related illness.
