Citation

Haywood, N, The Conjurer - Allan Browne Sextet, Bennetts Lane Jazz Club, Bennetts Lane Jazz Club, Melblourne, VIC, 2012 (2012) [Performance]

Abstract

Ever the raconteur, Allan Browne's sets at Bennetts Lane on a Monday often feature word play. This time it's official, with Browne's poetry - written in response to legendary jazz figures he has worked with - inspiring the sextet's trademark joyful grooves. Browne will be performing Conjuror - a collection of his jazz poetry, published by extempore, and a CD of related new material released by Jazzhead. Don't miss this marriage of poetry and jazz. Featuring Nick Haywood, Geoff Hughes, Marc Hannaford, Eugene Ball, Phil Noy and Allan Browne
