Recording and publication of chamber works by Scottish composer Buxton Orr, founder of the Guildhall New Music Ensemble and conductor of the London Jazz composers Orchestra. The string trio on this CD is dedicated to Jeremy Williams. The first quartet was first performed by the Arditti Quartet at the Bath Festival in 1979. The Beethoven String Trio had a special relationship with the composer. These works are all recorded for the first time, making the recording a valuable contribution to 20th century chamber music.
