Abstract
The Southern Gospel Choir performed for a UTAS/Festival of Voices major collaboration. The concert also included choirs from across Australia (Melbourne Singers of Gospel, Festival of Voices choir) with Legg as conductor, arranger, facilitator and performer.
In a Conservatorium/UTAS first, this concert was broadcast live internationally via the new High Speed Broadband technology. Data from the broadcast identified the following:
Beamed into 175 countries, including USA, UK, Germany, France, Argentina, Mexico, Japan.
Number of viewers: 5,500.
The SGC web page crashed after its 250,000 hit, and at least one external venue (Potters House Church, Dallas, TX) reported in excess of 5000 people attending the internet concert presentation during the event.
