Abstract

In a nation where demographical growth is guided by immigration rather than natural growth, the australian notion of 'multiculturalism' as a public policy is an ongoing debate. In addition to a hard to grasp definition, social commentators criticise its tendency to entrench cultural differences, tacitly give priviledge to the anglo-american majority, and serve as an economical indicator.
