Abstract
This was the first classical concert to be web streamed worldwide by the Jan Sedivka Camerata, receiving acclaim from countries including China, Germany, Austria, Romania, UK and US. The programme included established works by Tchaikovsky and Vivaldi, also a premier of a work by Australian composer Nigel Sabin. Significant research value was gained to dertermine if this new approach would place Hobart on the global musical map. The results have proved positive. This form of broadcast enabled the performance to reach the broader community and well wishes responded form Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. The success of the Camerata has also led to an increase in recruitment in the string department for 2012.
