A photocured sodium ion-selective electrode, based on the ionophore N,N'-dibenzyl-N,N'-diphenyl-1,2-phenylenedioxydiacetamide (ETH 157), was developed and evaluated. The robust nature of the photocured membrane made it ideally suited for measurements in flow injection potentiometry. The detection limit was 4x10-5 M. The electrode was used successfully to determine sodium levels in a range of drinking water and environmental water samples.
