performance
posted on 2023-05-25, 12:36 authored by Williams, JD
The Jan Sedivka Camerata travelled to Scotch Oakburn School, Launceston to conduct a series of performance development workshops, which culminated in a gala performance in Burnie at the Uniting Church. The performance included works by Mozart, Handel and featured "Twelfth Night Interlude" for baritone and strings by Tasmanian composer Don Kay. This outreach program has opened avenues between regional Tasmania and the Conservatorium of music in Hobart for further collaboration. Through discussions about the composers of works performed, performance techniques and stylistic attributes the program was aimed to educate not only the participants but also the Jan Sedivka Camerata students and tutors involved on the necessary and variable processes required for individual learning.
