Abstract
A musical homage to the life and work of Frank Zappa, composed and performed by Australia’s premier concert pianist Michael Kieran Harvey, and complemented by
Lingua Franka - concrete poetry on the same theme by Arjun von Caemmerer, the presentation of 48 Fugues is a MOFO coup.
An immersive environmental work, this performance/ installation will utilise all 4 floors of TMAG’s historic Bond Store. 4 different keyboards will be played over the 4 levels, with audience and performer migrating during the
course of the performance.
Joining this runaway Zappa bound train are Lee, O’Connor, Ward, Howlett in a programme curated by Leigh Hobba - artists with a love of Zappa music and mentality.
This is a labor of love which will appeal equally to Zappaphiles and anyone else with an interest in advanced music, innovative poetry and artistic vision.
