War and Peace in Language and Literacy Discourse

chapter
posted on 2023-05-22, 12:34 authored by Le, T, Le, Q, Megan Short
The world is seen as a global village in which all the villagers are expected to co-exist peacefully. In reality, the world is also a place where various forces compete for their power, influence and control. The same phenomenon has repeatedly occurred in language and literacy education. This chapter examines different discourses of the literacy discourse where theorists, researchers, teachers, parents and influential others have witnessed waves of war and peace at different levels and contexts.
