Managing talent: exploring human resource strategies in a dynamic environment

The first decade of the 21st century has seen what can best be described as a rollercoaster of labour market fluctuations from deepening talent shortages to a global financial crisis (GFC) threatening the largest shedding of labour since the great depression of the 1930s. In this context it could be argued that the management of talent is too difficult as there are so many variables to deal with.
