The Meander Valley Health and Wellbeing Map Project (2007) is a timely initiative aimed at reviewing the health and wellbeing needs of the Meander Valley community and developing recommendations for the provision of health and wellbeing resources and services in the future. The last Meander Valley Health Needs Survey was conducted in 1996. Since this time the benefits of health needs assessment and analysis have become widely acknowledged in the policy planning of community health and wellbeing resources. The Meander Valley Health and Wellbeing Map is aimed at utilising a holistic approach and understanding of health and wellbeing that encapsulates aspects such as physical, mental, emotional, cultural, social, environmental and economic factors in determining how people experience health and wellbeing across their lifespan. The project is thus centrally focused on investigating ways of keeping the Meander Valley ‘healthy and well’ in the present and future
