Abstract

Explores the strategic role of pre-tour publicity and judicious press releases along with gramophone recordings and sheer fortunate timing in the victory of Kreislerís tour of Australia. The nature and implications of Kreislerís repertoire choices and programming for the tour are discussed and the circumstances surrounding material such as Fritz Hartís Three Choral Preludes, dedicated to Kreisler, added while the tour was underway, are also explored.
