Abstract
There is no doubt that the global climate is changing, and that this will have an effect on all
of us in the future. Examples of the effect on the maritime environment are: CO2 storage
in the oceans; oil pollution; waste treatment; noise; vessel generated waves; and fmally
vessel disposal at end of life. This paper gives a brief overview of each of these aspects.
