Shan Deng plays 'Sonata for Violin and Piano' by Claude Debussy

This duo recital programme aimed to discover the relationship between French Impressionistic music and Chinese traditional music. In preparation of the concert, Debussy’s Sonata for Violin and Piano and Shan-Le Yang’s Summer Night were analysed, prepared and performed live. Through the study of Debussy’s sonata and Shan-Le Yang’s Summer Night, the research shows significant similarities in composition techniques.
