Abstract

The inaugural Tasmania Book Prize worth $25 000 for the best book with Tasmanian content in any genre has been won by local author James Boyce for his work, Van Diemen’s Land. Deputy Premier Lara Giddings presented the prestigious Tasmania Book Prizes today at the Commissariat Store at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. The Tasmania Book Prizes are presented by Arts Tasmania. Prizes are funded by the Tasmanian Government in partnership with the University of Tasmania as part of Ten Days on the Island.
