The recent announcement of the formation of an Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate (APPCDC) was of momentous importance for the future of the region an importance which would be too easy to underestimate. It has great potential to grow to incorporate further parties, and sets the scene for the future relationship between energy and environment in the region.
