AusCOM: The Australian Community Ocean Model

Roberts, JL and Heil, P and Phipps, SJ and Bindoff, NL, AusCOM: The Australian Community Ocean Model, Journal of Research and Practice in Information Technology, 39, (2) pp. 137-150. ISSN 1443-458X (2007) [Refereed Article]

The Australian Community Ocean Model (AusCOM) is an initiative by the Australian climate sciences community (including government and academic research laboratories) towards a unified coupled ocean-seaice model for climate applications. The technical configuration and details of the sub-models are presented here. Initial results, and the development of a displaced pole bipolar ocean grid are discussed. An outlook for future model development is given. Copyright© 2007, Australian Computer Society Inc.
