Effect of food consumption and temperature on reproduction in the ciliate Colpidium campylum

journal contribution
posted on 2023-05-16, 20:45 authored by Laybourn-Parry, J, Stewart, JM
The reproduction of the ciliate Colpidium campylum Stokes is described, at a range of temperatures, in relation to the amount of energy consumed by these ciliates. The rate of reproduction was found to vary with temperature and in relation to the energy consumed at 10°, 15° and 20° C. The possible explanation is discussed. Copyright © 1974, Wiley Blackwell.
