Ion Chromatography (IC) is the major instrumental technique for the determination of inorganic anions and, to a lesser extent, inorganic cations. Over the past four years, capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) has also been applied to the same analyses as IC and this article summarises some of the current directions in which IC and CZE are moving and their relative merits.
