Expert Systems have been widely used and are playing an increasingly important role in many domains. This paper presents another research into the development of a web-based expert system in the diagnosis and treatment of fish disease, using the XF6.2 development platform. This expert system can provide tele-diagnosis and treatment services to fish farmers with access to the Internet. It contains a knowledge base of over 60 types of fish diseases. Experiments with the system have provided convincing evidence of the system’s capacity to process the domain knowledge and provide both accurate diagnoses and effective treatments in fish diseases. The web-based system is ready to be formally launched and hosted in China.
