Abstract

The 'Great Day' explored what happens when an Australian choir performs a culturally-informed music with which they have little obvious connection, and how the choir could both make a significant impact on the Australian musical and broader community and explore the possibilities for a uniquely "Tasmanian" gospel voice within this genre.

Soloists: Maria Lurighi, Alex Johnson, Andrew Legg, Matilda Hopson and Stephe Stevenson. Produced and engineered by Llew Kiek and Guy Dickerson. Andrew Legg, University of Tasmania, - Musical and artistic direction; choral adaptions and arrangements; all instrumental arrangements; piano performance/recording. Production coexecutive for all artwork and assembly, mastering and final print.
