Abstract
In order to dispel the delusion that the computer by itself can educate, computer professionals need to press for reforms that properly exploit digital technology in the classroom. Against this background, recommendations for both general and particular support are presented that put forward activities that will likely lead to the greatest benefit from digital technology for teachers and pupils.
