The research team worked collaboratively with six artists of diverse artistic practice and diverse backgrounds: Bindi Cole Chocka, Sarah Duyshart, Alex Hamilton, Merinda Kelly, Robert Mihajlovski and Amanda Shone, as well as students. Iconic Industry was held at the National Wool Museum in Geelong, and captured the significant contribution of the industrial architectural landscape to the urban character of the city. The research team also redesigned the gallery space for the exhibition. The exhibition also included the symposium Vacancy and Preservation in which the research team discussed the role of art/architecture/community in transitioning industrial to post-industrial cities with academics, professionals, local government and industry/community representatives.
