A Global Manifesto for Practice Development

chapter
posted on 2023-05-22, 23:25 authored by Hardy, S, Clarke, S, Frei, IA, Claire MorleyClaire Morley, Odell, J, White, C, Wilson, V

This chapter provides a revision of practice development's (PD) core principles through undertaking a stakeholder critical review process to co-create a revised set of principle statements suitable for a contemporary global audience. The revision team themed results from their stakeholders’ feedback, identifying findings to be shared at the regular review meetings. Each team member provided further commentary alongside their suggested revisions, which culminated in the agreed wording for eight revised PD principles, achieved at the review team's online discussion on 27 May 2020. The order and wording have changed, while retaining the original concepts, to develop the revised principles as a global manifesto for PD. A final step in the critical review process was to send out the revised statements to a smaller group of stakeholders to verify the clarity of the proposed 2020 PD principles.
