Isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic has been a difficult reality over the past two years something that Pauline Marsh and her family learned only too well after her father, who is living with dementia, was isolated from them for a month. Pauline highlights the unintended costs of this isolation and suggests interventions to mitigate the distress for people with dementia and their families during lockdowns in hospitals and aged care homes.
