Abstract
Isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic has been a difficult reality over the past two years – something that Pauline Marsh and her family learned only too well after her father, who is living with dementia, was isolated from them for a month. Pauline highlights the unintended costs of this isolation and suggests interventions to mitigate the distress for people with dementia and their families during lockdowns in hospitals and aged care homes.
