Abstract
In 2005 we initiated a small research project to investigate the perceived impacts of the lack of crisis accommodation for single homeless women in the Western Sydney region. The project was funded in partnership by UTS Shopfront and Parramatta Mission and was undertaken in response to research on squatting in the Parramatta area which highlighted the concerns of squatters about the lack of specific crisis accommodation services for single women and young people in the Western Sydney region (Robinson, 2003) and in response to a perceived growth in numbers of single homeless women in contact with services in the region.
