Abstract

Controversy, eccentrics and stolen thunder are not words you would usually associate with the Nobel Prize, but it's not always smooth sailing for the prize awarded to those who have conferred the greatest benefit to humankind.

Neuroscientist Dr Lila Landowski, Astrophysicist Dr Jim Palfreyman and Anatomist Dr Jamie Chapman take a look back at some of the less noble moments of the 120 year-old prize.
