High blood pressure (BP), hypertension, is the leading modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD) and related disability worldwide. Due to extended life expectancy and increased exposure to risk over the lifetime, the prevalence of hypertension and consequent detrimental impact on health is increasing.
