Abstract
Originally published in Breathing Space, an anthology produced to mark the 25th anniversary of the Tasmanian Land Conservancy, 'The Tale of Lake Pedder' is an essay that considers the question: should Lake Pedder be restored. It asks, are human reasons sufficient basis for arguing that the lake, drowned in 1972 as part of a hydro-electric power scheme, should be returned to its natural state.
