Abstract
The process has taken various unexpected directions, from the investigation of the history of Gregorian Chant performance practice, to an examination of video tracking hardware and software even though Quintessence Project was originally conceived as a way of solving a set of performance problems. The project is an attempt to hybridise all such interests and also, an attempt to address real and perceived issues that exist for both contemporary and early music performance practice as they currently stand.
