Abstract

Do you celebrate a special occasion with balloons? You're not alone. Traditionally balloons highlight kids parties, weddings, even garage sales. But scientists like Dr Lauren Roman of the Institute of Marine and Antarctic Studies want you to think again as their research shows balloons are killing seabirds at a greater rate than first thought. Here's what they know.
