Abstract

Nigeria's energy demand for a population of over 180 million people is yet to be sufficiently met by the country's current energy structure. Scaling up energy production and supply had a pronounced place in the manifestos of most presidential candidates, the incumbent included, enlisted to contest the February 2019 presidential election. How current energy policies of the present administration will affect consumers, distributors and producers alike is the focus of this commentary.
