Based on fluid and melt inclusions in the quartz of Steinigtwolmsdorf, the formation of this vein is attributed to the magmatic-high-hydrothermal range. The supercritical condition indicates the beginning of the quartz crystallization. During the cooling process, a solvus opens with the critical point at about 740 °C and water content of 27 % (g/g) to lower temperatures (approximately 650 °C). During this process, two silicate melts with different water content are formed. These processes likely proceed in a closed system. Upon cooling the system opens and hydrothermal and redeposition processes dominate.
