Abstract
In a histological survey of 1606 Atlantic salmon from south eastern Tasmania only one infection with Kudoa thyrsites and one with Pleistophora sp. were detected. Possible reasons for these low prevalences are discussed. Incidental lesions examined additional to the survey were examples of lymphoma, melanoma, thyroid tumors, chronic inflammatory tissue and abscess.
