Abstract
Mark Harrison, senior lecturer in Chinese studies at the University of Tasmania, says further push-back in Taiwan against China will ensure a continuation of Beijing's current tactics and a progressive deterioration in cross-strait relations. "In that scenario, there is a greater likelihood of unpredictable actions by Taipei and a limited tactical military action by Beijing," he says in an Australian Strategic Policy Institute paper.
