Abstract
After significant renovations to five libraries in the system, the Free Library of Philadelphia contracted with Chapin Hall to conduct a Post-Occupancy Evaluation (POE) of the renovated libraries, including understanding the extent that customers are satisfied with the design and resources of the renovated libraries. Since one of the innovations in the 21st century libraries was to include a dedicated teen space, the perceptions of youth are of particular interest. Chapin Hall in collaboration with Lindsay Design Research used a modified version of photovoice methods to gather youth perspectives on renovated libraries. Research questions focused on what youth liked about the library and what they might change or suggest to make the library better
