Abstract

As a long-time observer of housing policy in Tasmania, I have noticed two interesting developments of late. First, that the problem of homelessness is being recast both by practitioners and academics as a complex, and as a 'wicked' problem that cannot be easily be resolved and second, that governments take their advice on housing issues from commercial agencies who currently have much to gain from the shortage of housing.
