Abstract
Policy is a primary determinant of health. To address determinants of health requires
family research and advocacy be developed in policy context with intent to inform policy. Faculty present examples of changing policy through
research and advocacy in Japan, Australia, Liberia, Portugal and US. Attendees are guided to identify key policy issues in their countries and to
develop strategies for their research and careers to inform policy to advance the health of families. An interactive format with practice session to
determine strategies to inform policy of outcomes of family research and advocacy will be conducted to expand family nursing capacity.
